This painting portrays a period of extreme anxiety, depression and unresolved grief that I went through in 2007 - the inner demon. The image is of me fighting my inner demon. The demon is mostly in the landscape area which is meant to portray my subconscious, and also my past. His tail protrudes into the everyday space in which I am also portrayed in the en garde position, fighting to keep the demon from interfering with my everyday life.
The painting could be described as art therapy. It helped me to deal with the issues that I was going through.
