Statement
Gayle Reichelt is an Australian Artist who is passionate about colour and texture.  Living and working in the Gold Coast, Queensland, Gayle produces unique and original artwork in Resin, Encaustic (hot beeswax), Acrylic Pour, Oil, Acrylic, and Charcoal Drawings, and also conducts  Acrylic Pour Workshops.

Gayle’s artwork has progressed through many stages throughout 40+ years of her art career.   Always a drawer since childhood, she began her painting career producing Traditional Realist art, learning her skills by attending workshops by various other artists and applying what she had learnt in her studio.   In 1992, she attended LaTrobe University Bendigo as a mature age student and obtained a BA Hons (Fine Art), and a Graduate Diploma of Education (Secondary).  University broadened her outlook considerably and encouraged her to be more experimental and contemporary in her approach to her artwork.  She has experimented in Realist, Surreal, and Abstract Art, and has used multiple mediums.

A recurring theme has been of reviewing the fate of abandoned human manufactured constructs in the natural environment.   In February/March 2016, Gayle was featured in a solo exhibition in the Arts Centre, Gold Coast City Gallery called The Last Fleet which focused on weathered shipwrecks.

More recently, Gayle’s works with Resin and Acrylic Pour has become more abstract, often using aerial photography and the cosmos as inspiration.  The latest Resin works incorporates real gemstones and crystals, inspired by Geodes.
