Star Baby is a collaborative photograph by Gayle & John Reichelt based on a theme of explaining the life cycle of stars and the nature of other wonders in our skies by combining images. Star Baby combines a star photo by John with a charcoal drawing by Gayle. The combined image conveys the reality that stars are not eternal; stars are born, they age and they die. Star birth occurs in glowing clouds in space, out of which a cluster of baby stars will emerge. In this image, there are a number of baby stars in the bright central area known as the Orion Nebula.
