Painting and drawing faces and figures has long been a favourite subject for me to paint. This year, apart from my encaustic and other work, I am focussing on portraits and figures with the aim of eventually progressing to painting in encaustic. Currently I have completed a number of charcoal drawings but do have plans to do more with them.
The portraits and figures are also being developed to use in a new collaborative series with my husband John Reichelt, of works based on a theme of explaining the life cycle of stars and conveying the reality that stars are not eternal; stars are born, they age and they die. We are combining star astrophotography taken by John with drawings or photographs taken by me. The theme also illustrates the nature of other wonders in our skies.
At this stage we have finalised five images in this series. Below is one image, and you can click on the link below to see the other completed images. More will be added soon.
If you wish to see the development of our collaborative series, this link will take you to our website to see them. All images are for sale.
